What the Night Will Look Like

The evening will feature two short film screenings, followed by a Q&A with the filmmakers. After the discussion, we will transition into a social hour, where we will be serving coffee, charcuterie, and a special food selection from Farm Dinner LA, and opening the space for conversation between filmmakers and the audience.

We’re proud to introduce the filmmakers behind Vol. 7 of Coffeehouse Cinema. These artists are the new wave of emerging voices in film that are making deliberate choices with a clear mission in every frame.

This volume explores what happens when order gives way to chaos. Though they approach it from entirely different directions, Fool’s Day and The Taking of Courtroom One Two Three both place familiar institutions under unexpected pressure, revealing how quickly certainty can give way to unpredictability. In those moments, each film uncovers something deeply human about the ways we respond when control slips from our grasp.

Bringing these films together invites them into conversation with one another—and with all of us. We hope they spark new perspectives, unexpected connections, and discussions that continue long after the credits roll.

That’s what Coffeehouse Cinema is all about.
